My first WordPress plugin is now official

My PayPal Donation Shortcode has made it to the WordPress plugin database. This is my very first official plugin for the WordPress community, so I’m quite excited what you people think about it.

Please let me know what you think about this plugin via the plugin-tag on the WordPress support forums. Off course you can contact me in other ways too, I will try to reply as soon as possible but please use the forums for support.

Thanks for all the feedback (and little donations!) that I’ve already recieved on my plugin development. That’s what keeps us developers going, I greatly appreciate that!

Looks good Coen! I might consider using this!

But will people give me money? That’s another thing!

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

It depends on the topic that you write about, but for the most ‘tech-flavored’ subjects, PayPal is accepted as a donation-platform.

But with lots of traffic, PayPal (combined with this plugin ;) ) is a golden way to receive donations, if you have quality content to offer.

Very true! And I guess without trying I woudl never know if people would donate or not!

Thanks for adding that subscribe option! I hate looking like that guy that never visits a blog again. life is busy!

I will try your plugin! Do you suggest this plugin on a blog without ad generating income?

    • Coen Jacobs says:

I think ad based income is completely different from donation based income. A click on a ad probably means that the visitor is interested in a external service (which is displayed in the ad).

But a donation on the other hand is like someone really digging your content, or a plugin in my case. It’s income based on the value of your blog/website, not by making a visitor click on a ad.
